You can use essential oils as often as desired, but it is important to consider the amount and concentration. For inhalation, using them 1–3 times a day is considered safe. For topical application, they should be mixed with a carrier oil, and avoid frequent repeated use on the same area to allow the skin to rest and reduce the risk of irritation.
Some types can be used, while others may not be suitable. It is advisable to consult a doctor or a professional before use for safety.
Those with sensitive skin can still use essential oils but must take extra precautions. Choose gentle varieties and always dilute them with a carrier oil at a low concentration before topical application. It is highly recommended to perform a patch test on the inner forearm or behind the ear and observe for 24 hours. If no adverse reaction occurs, it is safe to proceed with use.
Generally, essential oils are designed for external use only. They should not be ingested or mixed with food because of their high concentration, which may cause allergic reactions, irritation, or harm to the digestive system.
